Tenure Track Faculty Positions in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial and Systems Engineering
The Fred DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science at Hofstra University invites applications for two tenure-track openings at the assistant/associate professor level in mechanical engineering and in industrial and systems engineering, beginning September 1, 2025. Applicants should have an earned Ph.D. in the designated engineering or closely related field. Preferred candidates for the former position will have expertise in at least one of the following: engineering mechanics, modeling of dynamic systems, solid mechanics, mechanical vibrations and/or similar fields. For the latter position, expertise in operations research, data science, management science or similar fields is sought.
Candidates must be effective communicators with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, engage in research that can involve advanced undergraduates, and show initiative in seeking external funding. Information about the Department of Engineering can be found at www.hofstra.edu/engineering/ .
