The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering within the Washkewicz College of Engineering at Cleveland State University (CSU) invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track position as an Assistant College Lecturer commencing August 18, 2025. We are excited to announce this opening for a faculty position in Construction Management in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering , as we launch a dynamic new Bachelor’s in Science program in Construction Management with a Digital Construction focus. This innovative program integrates cutting-edge techniques and technologies like Building Information Modeling (BIM), automation and modular construction, and data analytics to prepare students for the future of the industry. In addition, we are planning an expansion of our offerings with a proposed master’s program in Program and Project Management, designed to develop leaders who can navigate complex, large-scale construction projects. Join us in shaping the next generation of construction professionals in a collaborative and forward-thinking academic environment.
This position will complement current faculty research expertise within the department and align with the Washkewicz College of Engineering’s research goal of Sustainable Urban Living. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate level (if qualified) construction management courses in support of the new BSc program in Construction Management and contribute to the civil engineering program courses as well. The qualified candidate will also be expected to develop/upgrade both undergraduate and graduate-level courses (if qualified) and consistent with their research interests.
• An undergraduate degree in construction management, construction engineering, civil engineering, or a related field;
• An earned master’s degree in construction management, construction engineering, project management, civil engineering or a related field;
• Teaching experience as an instructor.
• Ph.D. in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Digital Construction, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field;
• Research experience in an area of construction management, construction engineering, or digital construction;
• Industrial experience in an area of construction management, project management, or digital construction;
• Demonstrated teaching record;
• Evidence of student mentoring.
